We’re back with our first Thursday Waylay – Atlanta Events of 2016! It may feel like a frozen tundra outside, but inside this post you’ll find some fun Atlanta events and activities to keep you feeling warm and fuzzy! Callanwolde Arts Festival: The Atlanta Foundation for Public Spaces (AFFPS) is hosting the third annual Callanwolde Arts Festival on January 23 & 24. The award-winning, two-day indoor festival is located at one of Atlanta’s most distinctive historic properties and features approximately 86 painters, photographers, sculptors, metalwork, glass artists, jewelers and more. The festival, which is open to all ages, also offers artist demonstrations, live acoustic music, food trucks with healthy alternatives, and live music and dance performances.
The Blind Pig Parlour Bar: Atlanta’s swankiest Prohibition-inspired hideaway is throwing one humdinger of a One-Year Anniversary Party on Saturday, January 23. The Blind Pig Parlour Bar is marking the birthday occasion with complimentary bites and batched cocktails from 7 to 8 p.m., and drink specials throughout the evening. Live music will set the celebratory mood from 7:30 to 11 p.m., with a DJ taking over from 11 p.m. on. Reservations are not required but will be accepted for the early part of the evening. Roswell Restaurant Week: Presented by Roswell Inc, Roswell Restaurant Week begins Monday, Jan. 25 and runs through Sunday, Jan. 31. In its fifth year, Roswell Restaurant Week is raising the bar with more than 25 participating restaurants, each one offering diners special prices on prix fixe menus. In addition, this year’s event is set to be more social than ever with fresh new media pages for the event on Facebook and Instagram– diners are encouraged to share their dining experiences using the hashtag #RoswellRW.
The Southern Gentleman: It’s the season of beer dinners! The Southern Gentleman is hosting a Reformation Beer Dinner on Thursday, January 28 at 7 p.m. and a Rogue Ales & Spirits Beer Dinner on Wednesday, February 3 at 7:30 p.m. Both dinners come with four courses paired with beer and are $55 per person. Target and SoulCycle: Target has launched a ten-city national tour that offers six complimentary SoulCycle classes a day – over the course of three days – in each market, and Atlanta is one of them. It’s all part of Target’s goal to make active living accessible, affordable and fun for everyone. The tour will land at 200 Peachtree from Jan. 29 through Jan. 31. Individuals can sign up for classes beginning this Friday Jan. 22 here. Classes will be held at various times between 8 am and 6 pm. In addition to the rides, Atlanta will host a pop-up shop dedicated to wellness products including apparel, electronics, health & beauty and food & beverage. The shop, which will also live as an online boutique on Target.com, will also feature an exclusive Target x SoulCycle capsule including hoodies, sweatshirts, t-shirts and tanks.
