The BEST Buckhead ClassPass Studios
After a brief hiatus we are back on ClassPass and LOVING it! One of the reasons I was so hesitant to re-join, and left in the first place, was because of my crazy travel schedule. When you travel a couple times a week it really cramps your workout style – and schedule. Turns out, the great thing about ClassPass is you can take it on the road! Whenever possible I try and take a class in the cities I visit. Real talk…it’s rare that I can break away from work to take advantage of this feature, but recently I’ve taken a barre class is Scottsdale and a yoga class in Nashville – how fun, right?
When I’m in Atlanta, I stay pretty close to the Buckhead area. I’ve committed to trying new studios in my neighborhood, in addition to old favs, and have found some classes that I didn’t think I would love…and now can’t live without! In no particular order here are the BEST Buckhead ClassPass Studios:
The instructors in this class are quite simply…incredible. I have never felt more pushed AND supported at the very same time. They are very focused on being in-tune with how your body feels, and knowing how hard to push yourself that day, in that moment, on each specific move. It creates a very, very positive energy and vibe, which is one of the reasons their classes are always PACKED. They also just introduced FREE childcare for members (which, to be clear isn’t for CassPass users like me – it’s 150 a month) but I think this is such a great idea and again…very supportive of moms like our own resident Mommy blogger, Kelly.
The 60 minute class is a killer combination of of treadmill & floor intervals that kick your butt while making the time fly by. Walker, Jogger and Runner options give everyone an opportunity to succeed and grow, as well as push themselves where they are most comfortable, which I love. I’m currently a jogger – but I’m hoping to level up to a runner are some point. Also, they have an instructor run around a refill water bottles (that they provide!) throughout the class, which is AMAZING because you. are. going. to. sweat….and guzzle water. I was super intimated to try my first BLAST class, but my awesome ClassPass buddy Jordan encouraged me to go, and now I’m HOOKED!

DEFINE is a jack of all trades when it comes to fitness classes! Kelly swears by the Rev class (spin) and I love the pace and energy of the Body class (barre.) They do a great job of creating a really inspired community that motivates everyone. They also have an amazing retail space and studio – super modern and clean with a great location right off Peachtree road!
Everyone in Atlanta has a favorite spin studio – and truth be told – there are a LOT of options. I consistently find myself booking my allotted three Flywheel classes month after month. I love the setup of the room, and while I don’t show up on top of leaderboard, I’m still motivated by it. The instructors have just the right amount of over-the-top enthusiasm and inspirational messages. Reserve early because the bikes fill up quickly at this location. Also, if it’s your first time going, factor in at least 10 minutes to figure out the parking situation. It’s the only thing not ideal about the studio.
Pink Barre also frequently modifies their classes so that the experience is never routine and the time flies by. This class is a barre-based total body workout that relies very heavily on isometric strengthening while using the ballet barre for support. This is a GREAT class to pop in before heading to brunch or happy hour because you can manage to not get sweaty while still getting an awesome workout. Classes are traditionally 55 minutes, so you can get in and out in an hour flat.
I am a Pure Barre addict. Since joining their VIP program, I’ve been hitting the studio at least four times a week – and wish I could go more. It’s low-impact, which is great for my post-surgery knee, and protects joints by avoiding any bouncing or jumping. Each strength section of the workout is followed by a stretching section in order to create long, lean muscles without bulk, resulting in the barre body that drives so many women into the studio. Some people are thrown off by the carpet on the floor – and some people love it. I never really notice it, so it’s not a factor for me – but keep it in mind.
This is the best Megaformer class in Atlanta – hands down. It’s a super a challenging workout that may not be suitable for beginners. Even the strongest person should come prepared to work hard! It is designed to utilize both upper and lower body muscles, using springs and pulleys that will set the resistance and counter resistance of the workout. It’s one of the safest ways to strengthen your muscles with very little stress on your joints – and the workout supermodels swear by. Book early, because the classes fill up VERY quickly.

Thunderbolt is my favorite dedicated yoga studio in town. Whenever out-of-town visitors come into town and want a yoga recommendation I send them to Thunderbolt. They are committed to helping students be audaciously playful and dedicated to their practice of yoga, so even though it’s a difficult class, it’s super fun and NOT intimidating at all. I’m ALWAYS sore after class – but at the same time, my muscles are much looser and I have less joint pain. It’s the perfect follow-up to a Stellar Bodies or BLAST class.
West Coast Workout is a very unique class option in Atlanta – and I’m so glad one of their two studios is in Buckhead. This method of training is based on the creator, Tammy Stokes’ “Hollywood” training style. This style dismisses muscle isolation training and uses fuller body techniques resulting in an overall sculpted body design. It’s a really nice compliment to barre class, since the movements are large, and I always feel like I’m torching calories. Make sure to drink a lot of water before class, because it’s heavy, heavy cardio.
So, what do you think? Are these the best Buckhead ClassPass studios? Are there any studios I’m missing?
