2016 DISCOVER ADAC Event – Sept 26-29
ADAC, the largest design center in the southeast and one of my FAVORITE places in Atlanta, will soon be hosting their fall market, DISCOVER ADAC, September 26-29.This year’s event is filled with awesome events and presentations and gives an incredible look at what’s going to be hot in 2017.
Hobnob with designers such as Vern Yip, one of America’s leading interior design talent Nancy Corzine, interior designer and contributing editor for domino magazine Jenny Komenda, owner and lead designer of Ceylon et Cie Michelle Nussbaumer, and highly versatile interior designer Robert Stilin. Umm yes please!
I think the MUST ATTEND talks and events include:
- ADAC Tour: Cool Cocktails and Hot Products for Contract Projects with 2016 Southeast Contract Designer of the Year and ai3 founding partner Lucy Aiken-Johnson along with board members from ASID, IIDA and NEWH
- Creating Signature Spaces in a Tech Savvy World hosted by Coastal Living + Southern Living with Dana Walter and Cortney Bishop
- Lilly Pulitzer II and L’Atelier Moderne, and more.
Taste of Atlanta – October 21-23
Anticipation is building for the 15th annual Taste of Atlanta, taking place Oct. 21-23 in Midtown at Tech Square. The city’s essential food festival is marking this milestone anniversary in style, with celebrity chef appearances, dynamic demos, a kickoff party on Friday night and a VIP Grand Tasting Experience featuring a top-notch selection of craft beers, cocktails and wines—not to mention craveable creations from more than 90 of Atlanta’s favorite restaurants.
Single-day general admission tickets are $25, and the VIP Grand Tasting Experience is $75 (which I strongly reccomend.) Tickets to the all-inclusive Friday night kickoff party are $65 general admission and $80 VIP. Guests are strongly encouraged to purchase tickets now at Freshtix.com/TasteofAtlanta before prices increase on Friday, Oct. 7, or before they sell out. Guests who purchase early receive the added convenience of having their RFID wristbands delivered in the mail, allowing food lovers to easily add additional Taste Points ahead of time and breeze through the entrance on festival days.
Mac and Cheese Festival – Oct 8
The Edgewood Neighborhood is organizing an inaugural Mac & Cheese Festival at Walker Park, scheduled for October 8th, 2016! This will be an annual tradition to raise money for Neighbor in Need, a Non-Profit that keeps longtime residents in the Edgewood Neighborhood. It’s going to be the best Mac & Cheese Festival in the Southeast – likely because it’s the ONLY Mac & Cheese Festival in the Southeast…but who cares? This tasting event will showcase between 20 and 30 vendors from local restaurants, chefs, and caterers. All the Mac. All the Cheese. Heck yes! Tickets are 20 bones.
Zoo Atlanta Sippin’ Safari – Oct 8
When you think of your typical wine tasting, do you …
Imagine having a glass where the glass growls back? Picture yourself sampling great grapes in the home of North America’s largest population of great apes? Wish you could try a wilder vintage? Bring on Zoo Atlanta uncorked! Enjoy sampling of fine wines, evening animal viewing, live music and tasty bites in one of Atlanta’s most beautiful and exotic settings at the NEW Sippin’ Safari presented by Georgia Natural Gas. Sounds super cool, right? We can’t wait! General admission tickets $65.
Little 5 Points Halloween Festival and Parade – Oct 15
The Little 5 Points Halloween Festival starts at noon, then a parade goes from L5P to Freedom Parkway starting at 4pm. It’ll be super…super weird. But also awesome. Don’t miss it.
Atlanta World Kite Festival – Oct 22
Every year our festival brings all kinds of people together to celebrate outdoor family fun! Not only do they have kite flying fun, they also have everything from food trucks and face painting to photo-booths and live music. It’s fun, it’s free – and it’s a ton of fun. Like you have anything better to do, come on.
