Loafers and a blue blazer are the perfect brunch uniform. Minimal effort – maximum sophistication. Isn’t it funny how menswear inspired pieces instantly add a little polish. I’m not talking Diane Keaton in Annie Hall or Tilda Swinton’s androgynous style -although if you can pull this off more power to you! I’m more focused on adding a couple tailored pieces to wardrobe workhorses like tee’s and jeans.
One of the very best ways to transition into the season is with a light jacket. Beaded or tweeded, I love them all! However, I have a special place in my heart for the classic blue blazer.
I think it’s impossible to avoid compliments when you’re wearing a blue blazer. SOMEONE is going to tell you how amazing you look (even if you barely ran a brush through your hair before dashing off to brunch with the girls!)
The key to pulling the look off is often pure tailoring (a fitted blazer) and proportion (a flowy tee), paired with the great accessories we already love like a stack of bangles and a delicate necklace.
Menswear-inspired loafers are everywhere this fall, showing up in chunky cuts, woven styles and quirky shades. While I love a bold hue on my feet, a neutral like the tan I have matches almost everything in my closet. it can tone down a fancy dress for the office and dress up a pair of jeans and a vest for running around town. We salute you, blue blazer and loafers! Thanks for your help this season.
