When I was designing baby Rhett’s nursery – and in a deep and delightful Pinterest hole – I saw a sweet room with a sign on the door that said “On the day you were born the angels clapped their hands and the moon danced with the stars.” Ever since then stars have been a main theme in my baby’s life. He has star teethers, star wallpaper, star toys, a star activity mat. Stars everywhere. So when I was given a little outfit with stars on it from a sweet friend I was, well, over the moon.
The outfit was by Feather Baby, a local Atlanta brand (yippie!) that has become a fast favorite in the Daws household. My little guy suffers from eczema and we have invested gobs of time – and money – doing everything we can to help clear up his skin. It turns out that the type of fabric he wears plays a HUGE part. And that’s reason #1 why we love Feather Baby.
I’m also going to stop right here and mention that this post isn’t sponsored. In fact I reached out to THEM to see if they wanted to work with us. Their outfits are SO GOOD. And here’s the good stuff: Peachtree Roadies readers get 15% off anything (ANYTHING) on their website in March – just use the code: Peachtree Roadies. Plus, Feather Baby offers free shipping and free returns. Quick note: the code is only for online purchases, not in-store.
All of Feather Baby’s outfits are made out of Peruvian Pima cotton that is knit especially for them so that it’s incredibly soft. In fact, the couple even moved to Lima where their clothing is manufactured to be close to the production. For us, this cotton was a game changer for Rhett’s skin. It’s incredibly breathable in addition to being soft, and we found that a combination of Tubby Todd All Over Ointment (a true miracle cream) and these jammies at night worked wonders.
Sude and Joe, the founders of Feather Baby, were so committed to delivering the softest, most luxurious fabric for their lines they moved to Lima where their clothing is manufactured to be close to the production. And did I mention they had baby triplets at the time? I have trouble moving from the playroom to the highchair with ONE baby.
We also love Feather Baby because they are a local Atlanta company. We get lots of questions about buying a special, local gift for southern babies – and these sweet outfits are always the first thing we mention. I think it’s so special that a brand adored all over the country is located down the street.
We just picked up this sweet airplane romper for a friend expecting her first baby boy – and couldn’t resist snagging one for Rhett as well (he is OBSESSED with planes!) He’s going to be LIVING in it all summer long – and we are throwing a sweatshirt over it and wearing it now as well.
The colors are still sweet enough for a little guy – but big boy enough that his dad reaches for these outfits every time.
Let us know if you love Feather Baby and what other local southern brands we need to try!
