I’ve mentioned my love for the The Spa at the Mandarin Oriental before. It’s one of my very, very favorite ways to wind down in the city and whenever we have guests in town I always recommend a visit. But this month my favorite spa is outdoing themselves – by supporting Breast Cancer Awareness Month and the American Cancer Society.
The Mandarin is singing the song of my people here, because from pink cocktails to my fav spa treatments, they are helping us ‘think pink’ and support the cause – and you know I wasn’t going to miss it! I stopped by last weekend for the Body, Mind & Pink (only available from October 1 to 31) because 15% of the treatment was donated to the American Cancer Society.
My treatment kicked off with their signature Quintessence Body Scrub. If you haven’t tried this scrub you’re not truly living. They start by dry brushing the skin, a super luxurious way to eliminate toxins. Don’t believe me? Did you know a third of your body’s toxins are excreted through the skin? Gross, I know! The dry brushing helps to get rid of those pesky toxins trapped in the skin and unclog pores. It’s heavenly.
They follow the dry brushing with an essential oil sea salt scrub (makes me MELT) heavily influenced by traditional Chinese medicine and then…the highlight of the experience: the Calm Mind massage. Your head, neck, shoulders and back release blocked energy and you basically float off the heated waterbed comfy massage table covered in linen and silk…bliss. BUT WAIT, you aren’t done! The experience is completed with a scalp massage using ESPA Pink Hair & Scalp Mud for ultimate relaxation and serenity. It’s a head rub on crack.
So now that your body is a puddle of relaxation – it’s time to head to the 60-foot lap pool and drink beautiful botanical cocktails.
Naturally. But let’s not forget that all of this pampering is for a good cause – and so are the cocktails! Order the Pretty in Pink, a vodka drink enhanced by pomegranate and lychee, and the Strawberry Splash made with champagne, strawberries, lemon and cranberry juice, and 15% of the cost will be donated to the American Cancer Society. Tough to beat that, right?
If you haven’t been to The Spa at the Mandarin Oriental, October is the perfect time to go! Remember to think pink and…please take me with you.
Thanks for having me, Mandarin Oriental! Although this post is the result of a partnership, the relaxation and mind, body magic testimony is all mine!
