So many fun happenings going on in Atlanta this weekend/next week!!
Birchbox is coming to Atlanta (102 West Paces Ferry Road in Buckhead)! From Friday, August 7 – Sunday, August 9 Birchbox will transform two shipping containers, one for men and one for women, into full-service beauty and grooming shops. Visitors can shop a curated assortment of top-rated, full-size products across skincare, hair, makeup, body, fragrance and grooming categories, with a focus on summer essentials. Each shop will ALSO feature:
  • A Build Your Own Birchbox area
  • Subscription offers
  • Free beauty and grooming services on the roof deck garden
  • An appearance by Cynthia Bailey of The Real Housewives of Atlanta on Saturday, August 8 from 12 – 2 pm.
  • Free King of Pop’s with ANY purchase all weekend long!
  • An appearance by Roddy Whiteof the Atlanta Falcons on Saturday, August 8 from 1 – 3 pm

IPA Day is Friday, August 7! The Daily Meal has unveiled its list of America’s 50 Best Craft Breweries. After cutting the list down to 585 breweries from more than 20 states, the list was voted on by more than 2,200 craft beer lovers throughout the country. Georgia is represented on the list with one placing brewery: Terrapin Brewing in Athens came in at #44. Bottoms up!

Bone Lick BBQ’s owner and pitmaster Mike LaSage is hosting Holy Friggin’ Hot Fest on Saturday, August 8. The daylong anniversary celebration embracing all things hot kicks off at 12 p.m. and features a smorgasbord of activities including a hotdog eating contest, a SirHOTcha eating, a hot sauce competition, hot wing specials, music, games and more.  Additionally, as a special thank you to all his loyal patrons, LaSage is treating partygoers ages 21 and up to a complimentary draft beer and rib between 2 and 4 p.m. while supplies last. To RSVP or learn more about Holy Friggin’ Host Fest, visit Facebook.

Farmer Fund Launch FlyerThe Farmer Fund—an Atlanta nonprofit founded this year to serve Metro Atlanta farmers in the face of natural disaster—will host a launch party on Monday August 106-9pm with local food and beer from Atlanta chefs and breweries, including Second Self. Festivities will also include a chance to meet and mingle with local farmers and live music by The Darnell Boys. Tickets are priced at $65 and available here. Event is at the Cathedral of St. Philip in Buckhead.

Take a “Pickling 101” class at Vino Venue on Tuesday, August 11, hosted by chef Matt Marcus of Portofino. From 7 to 9:30 p.m., guests will learn how to preserve summer’s bounty and master the art of crafting a flavorful brine, from start to finish. After walking through the process of pickling, guests can roll up their sleeves and join in the fun of pickling summer produce such as Santa Clause melon, heirloom baby carrots, corn, radish,blueberries, cucumbers, rhubarb and kohlrabi. Walk out the door with the confidence to safely and effectively pickle veggies at home and enjoy a take-home jar filled with the fruits of your labor. The class will include light appetizers and wine to enjoy while pickling. A portion of proceeds will benefit Slow Food Atlanta.
