Let’s Get Physical, Phyiscal: This weekend the BattleFrog Obstacle Race is coming bak to ATL (Foxwoods Event Center in Tallapoosa, Georgia – just an hour outside the city), for a day of ridiculously fit people running around in mud and splashing through big bodies of water in very tight clothing. Eh, sounds lame…. And in addition to the various amateur level racers, the Atlanta version will feature a 2x winning Crossfit Games Champion, titled “The Fittest Man on Earth” and GORMR “a Southeastern Obstacle Race community and team based out of Atlanta, GA. Wellokayden. There are a 16K and 8K race options for adults, the Tadpole 400-meter dash for ages 4 to 8 and the BullFrog Mile for ages 8 to 13. Keep Out of the Kitchen this Thanksgiving: Ah yes…. So we all survived Halloween and the holidays are officially upon us. Ocean Market Chef Shane McIntosh has whipped up a delicious four-course Thanksgiving to-go menu that is affordable, easy to prepare and is sure to please all tastes, which is more than I can say for some of the outfits on saw on the CMA red carpet last night…Ocean Market if offering four-course Thanksgiving dinner to-go menu for parties of four, eight and 12 starting at $134. Orders can be placed in-person at Ocean Market or by calling 404-665-1495.
Where’s the BEEF?: The team behind Bellina Alimentari is combining two things I’m incredibly passionate about: beef and happy hour. To promote these beliefs (they may also have their own beliefs, but this is my blog, not theirs so I’ve got the microphone) they are inviting guests to join them for a “Meet the Farmer” aperitivo (Italian happy hour) with Steve and Whit Whitmire (who doesn’t love WHIT?) of Brasstown Beef—Bellina’s beef supplier—on Tuesday, November 10 from 5 to 7 p.m. Attendees can get to know where their meat comes from and enjoy a nice glass of wine and beef-centric nibble.
Flair for your Hair: Just in time for gratitudious spending and gift giving…the best hair accessory store on the PLANET (I mean this…) Elizabeth Heard is officially live! Elizabeth Heard is an independent line (support small business!!) Her pieces are amazing, truly exceptional! I’ve had my eye on the rhino and a leather beauty for months now. Curious to see what I’m talking about? Please visit: www.elizabethheard.com.
Be Brash for a Buzz: Brash Coffee, a coffee shop touted as pursuers of simple, delicious coffee and supporters of nurturing community and conversation, is now open at Westside Provisions! Brash Coffee is the brainchild of Matt Ludwikowski. He founded the brand while exploring the small, rural town of San Vicente in El Salvador and teamed up with local farmers to build a coffee mill to process the first-ever coffee to leave that region. I stopped by this weekend – it’s a really cool spot!
Chomp & Stomp and Such: Instagram famous chili enthusiasts, restaurant chefs and crockpot cults alike compete for to be crowned the winner of Cabbagetown Park’s Chomp & Stomp. It’s only 5 bucks and also includes a 5K (seems brave to me after all that chili), live music and an artist market. It’s on Nov 7th, so head here: 177 Kirkwood Ave, Atlanta.
